These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Mornella mobile application ("Mornella", "the app"), developed by Shawn Loh ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Mornella.
The Service
Mornella delivers short positive affirmations as a morning notification, with optional ambient background audio and other features. A free tier is available with no account required. Optional paid features ("Mornella Pro") are offered through in-app purchases.
Subscriptions & In-App Purchases
Mornella Pro is available as:
- Monthly — an auto-renewing subscription billed monthly.
- Annual — an auto-renewing subscription billed yearly, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
- Lifetime — a one-time, non-recurring purchase.
Prices are shown in the app at the time of purchase in your local currency, as set by Apple or Google.
Auto-renewal. Monthly and Annual subscriptions automatically renew at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase and upon each renewal. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Managing or cancelling. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time:
- iPhone / iPad: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Mornella.
- Android: Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Mornella.
Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds are handled under their policies — we cannot issue refunds directly. For Apple, visit reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google, request a refund through the Play Store.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Mornella for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the rules of the app store you downloaded it from.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the app, including by attempting to circumvent purchase or entitlement checks, reverse-engineer or tamper with the app, or extract, redistribute, or resell its content.

Mornella is a wellness and motivation app intended for general informational and self-reflection purposes only. Its affirmations, sounds, and other content are not medical, psychological, therapeutic, or professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and are not a substitute for professional care. If you are experiencing a mental-health crisis or need support, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services. Reliance on any content in the app is at your own discretion and risk.
Intellectual Property
The Mornella name, design, original affirmation text, and software are owned by us. Public-domain quotes and openly-licensed (CC0) audio used in the app remain subject to their respective terms.
Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that notifications will always be delivered on time (delivery depends on your device and operating-system settings).
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
